I would like to highly recommend "Grogan Bros." for moving. Their service
was excellent, and there rates were very good. Stumph (?) would have
charged us $46.50/hr, but Grogan Bros. charged $40/hr. Their rates were:

        $40/hr for 3 men and a van
                   (or)
        $50/hr for 4 men and a van

plus 1 hour's charge for travel time (both of these were the
plus 6% for fuel surcharge same for Stumph)

They arrived only a few minutes late (there was a big snowstorm that day -
Jan 17) and loaded our place into the van in about 1 hour and 45 minutes,
working through an elevator (we didn't have a bedroom set, but we did have a
couple of desks, sofa bed, chairs, bookcases, stereo table, dinette set, and
about 40-50 moving boxes of stuff). Unloading the stuff took about 1 hour
and 15 minutes - perfectly fitting the 3 hour minimum for a total cost of
about $170, which we considered very reasonable for the amount of stuff we
were moving. They were very careful with the furniture, and wrapped
everything with quilted pads. My only complaint was that I didn't find out
until after the men came to move us that if we wanted insurance it had to be
arranged ahead of time - I didn't think to ask earlier, but it was $2 per
$1000 or stuff, with a $10 or so minimum. Basically, though, we thought
they did an excellent job, and highly recommend them.

                            - bob

ps. They also sell moving boxes, and have a packing service, but we didn't
inquire into either of these.
