Dis-recommendation: Ray Schinhofen -- I believe this is the person Cam
Miller identified as Ray Sheinhoffen in a recent post. I am involved in a
very ugly confrontation with him right now. <If this were the opinion bb
**extremely** harsh language would appear here.> I will privately share
details with anyone who inquires.

I couldn't resist, this should probably should go into the
Bovik files. I had a nasty time 5 years ago as a home seller
with a buyer who used Ray Schinhofen as an inspector. He was
telling the buyer things that were just plain wrong. I wouldn't
use him either as an inspector or as an architect.

As for Jerry Valenti; he's too heavy to be going up on roofs but
is a terrific inspector, especially for older homes. If you
have a tile or slate roof you are much better off getting a
reputable roofer up to look at its condition than relying on
a structural engineer. Try Paul Hoolahan. 521-0191.
