Subject: MCI, unbelievably great
Message-Id: <722734528/clay@GOOKLA.GRAPHICS.CS.CMU.EDU>

I got something from AT&T which included a $60 check, which, if signed
and cashed would switch me to AT&T as my primary carrier. I am a *very*
loyal MCI customer, and wouldn't think of *permanently* switching to
AT&T. However, I am inherently naughty, and I *hate* AT&T (at least
their long-distance division), so naturally I thought "Why not switch,
and then switch back."

I called MCI, to see what the ramifications of that would be, and they
at first told me that I would lose my Friends & Family Calling Circle,
(a kind of MCI-only discount program) etc. if I switched. Then the
customer rep asked me to hold while she checked something. When she came
back, she said that MCI would "match" AT&T's offer by giving me a $60
credit. Slightly stunned, I accepted. I've ripped up that check, and am
ever more loyal to MCI.

Cheers

Clay
