I just finished having my kitchen completely overhauled. I had a chimney
ripped out, a new window put in, and of course new cabinets.

I toured most of the kitchen cabinet places... from Ikea to Sears &
Hechinger's. Following are my comments, and prices for the stuff I needed:

    Ikea:
$1200 really poor quality cabinets (drawer construction, hinges,
                 counter-tops)
    Sears:
$5000 too expensive for the quality!!!
    Excel: (1800 5th avenue: 261-0166)
        $2200 had a great showroom & the
salesman were willing to chat & show me the differences
between various cabinets. Good quality stuff.
C&C Builder's Supply: (696-5761, Tars, PA (also a branch in Monroeville))
$1500 excellent quality stuff ESPECILLAY FOR THE PRICE!, don't
visit on Saturday's because its too busy. Really worth the
                 drive out there.

I had Jon McElravy do the work... nice job & done in a timely manner. His
quote was only $2000 for two weeks work & a chimney to rip out! There was
an extra $1000 in supplies. Reach him at 466-3807. (I found him through
bovik too).

(Other quotes ranged from $12000 up, $6000 for the chimney alone...)
