There's a chain of stores called Homeplace that has lots of
contemporary-type furniture for prices that are usually pretty good
(though more than what you would pay at Goodwill).  A lot of it is
particle-board and veneer stuff from Denmark that comes in kits and
assembles more easily than you might expect.  We've got several of those
things -- bookcases, endtables, etc. -- and are pleased with them.

There's one such store out in the annex behind the Monroeville Mall, and
another in Station Square.  This may or may not be what you are looking
for, but it might be worth a visit to see.
