Subject: apartments unlimited

Hi!

I would like to recommend against renting from Apartments Unlimited.
They go under various names, such as Hempstead Road Associates,
but are all run by the same person: Mr. Gross.  While many of
the units are nice in both size and condition, they charge
higher than average rent.  Now, that's not a problem, since 
the units are really "good".  However, when it comes to repairs
and other problems, they are extremely slow. For example, my
refrigerator broke and it took 1 week to get a new one.  My neighbor`
waited 2 weeks.  I am still waiting for an outlet to be replaced.
This makes about 6months and 4 complaints.  

The person who rents the unitss, Bob, is pure sleaze and will 
tell you anything to get you rent.  He told me that the rent
would not be raised for at least two years (and then it was
raised by $35 after the first year);  I can go on with
other stories like the apartment not being cleaned before Imoved
in;  bob's leaving town with my apt key the weekend I was supposed
to move in;  my windows being painted shut in hte middle of summer
and it taking a week to get them to unstick them; etc....

Other people in my unit have complained ofthe office help losing`
their rent checks and then billing them the $50 late fee.
I personally deliver and ask for a receipt for my rent just in
case.

All in all, I would not recommend renting from them if slow`
service really bothers you.
