When we bought a house last year, we used a man recommended by the broker.  He
wasn't cheap ($160), but he spent several hours inspecting the place and then
gave us a lengthy written report.  So far, anyway, we have found only one minor
flaw in the report: He said he wasn't able to inspect the under-eave crawl
space, and in fact there is an access panel to it hidden in one closet.  I
would use him again.  He is
