I want to highly recommend Dave Kardell for contracting work.  He just
finished remodelling my kitchen (but he'll pretty much do any job around
the house).  He did great work for not too much money ($2500 for 7 days of
work) and was extremely trustworthy and reliable.  He and his partner have
a low budget operation, which means he's inexpensive compared to the larger
operations, but the one downfall is that he doesn't have any support staff
to answer phones etc.  So he can be tough to get hold of, but worth it.
