Subject: Moving Companies


I recently moved with the Wilkinsburgh Moving Exchange.  They charged $50/hr
for 4 men and the truck. We moved a 1 bedroom apartments worth of
furniture between two apts in Squirrel Hill, and that took 3.5hr including
the 1hr 'travel time' charge (so they worked 2.5 hr). These guys worked
pretty hard -- our old apartment was on the 3rd floor w/o any elevator.
So I can't criticize them for not being quick. Two of the guys in the
crew were very careful and appeared experienced. One of the crew members
was quite careless and banged some of our nice furniture around a bit.
Fortunately, no significant damage was done.

Overall, these guys were a little cheaper than MoveXPress. But given the
rave reviews I've heard about them, I think I'd call them the
next time.
