I would like to warn people away from Fortress Painting (Holly Moore).
They came highly recommended and have done a large painting job in our
house.  They have done reasonable, but not great work.  Their work is
not why I'm warning people away from them.

They have done several things to raise our ire:

o they have smoked in our house after asking them several times not to

o they have created a mess on numerous occasions (e.g. paint on the
floor) and not cleaned up until I harassed them about it

o they have not covered up our furniture with drop-cloths, resulting in
plaster dust all over my desk, a couch, a dresser, etc.

o they have tried to charge for things that should have been included in
the estimate (e.g. they wanted us to pay for the extra paint needed to
cover the trim in a room).  I think that an estimate has to mean
something, and if they miscalculated, that is their problem.  Otherwise,
they could just give the lowest estimate and claim that everything
required more time and materials than they thought.

But the biggest reason for dissing them is that Holly's partner, Ralph,
has an alcohol problem and has been drinking our liquor.  We drink
seldom, and so weeks went by without us discovering this.  This is an
invasion of our privacy and a betrayal of our trust.

We will never use this company again.
