I just survived a plumbing emergency (stopped up main drain).  A bboard
post asking for reliable plumbers produced a couple of recommendations.
One was for R.C. Buerkle, who my neighbors also use.  Unfortunately he's
so popular he couldn't come for several days...  The other was for
Standard Plumbing, aka Robert Buerkle, who came the next day (in
response to an evening call).  They cleaned the drain and told us we had
tree roots growing into it.  Instead of recommending that we dig up &
replace the drain ($$$) they told us to just put root killer in it
every few months.
