Subject: Glass Block windows.

We installed 6 windows of a rather odd size quite cheaply using
'Browns Hill Sand & Glass Block' (about 3 miles from school). They'll
give you the name of a gentleman who's quite happy to do the job for you
 - at a negotiable fee per window. You look at the available blocks
and choose the sizes and styles you'd like and *you* buy them. Their
prices were the lowest I could find for the 6" 'wavy glass' blocks.
The workman will bring all the stuff to your place when he does the work.

The work was very neat and carefully done. One worry I'd had was that
we'd buy one of the pre-made windows, have someone put it in and then have
the lot fall out. This workman used to be a bricklayer and that's how he
'built' the window in the wall.

My only gripe concerns the number of times I heard his WW II stories.
