Subject: Cleaning, Leather: "BEST" is Worst

Almost two months ago I took three leather jackets to
Best Cleaners on Ellsworth Avenue to be cleaned.
They promised turnaround of just over a week.

The bottom line is that I finally got everything back
today and it's in worse shape than when I started.
The owner of Best produced shoddy work, refused to
stand behind it, and became rude and obnoxious when
I asked to have the faulty work redone for the second time.

In the process:
 - The initial drop-off was pleasant. I explained that
I needed one of the pieces for a trip and they
assured me it would be back in time.
 - First sign of trouble: the stuff was a week late getting
back. They denied I had told them I had a deadline.
It took two trips to determine this, as they send
leather work to Philadelphia and the weekly delivery
was late (in addition to not including my work).
 - When the work did get back, one lining was de-hemmed and
drooping, one facing was unglued, and one garment
was not "pressed" -- it came out rumpled. I sent
two of the pieces back to be re-done.
 - The rework was not done at the time promised, even though
rework should have highest priority at any reputable
	establishment.
 - I finally caught up with it today. The garments now have
spots that weren't there before, the rework isn't
done right, and punctures have appeared in one.
The owner blamed me for all the problems and became
	rude and abusive.

Never again.
