Subject: Mortgage Brokers

If you are looking for a mortgage to buy a home, I reccomend you
go to a broker. It is a much better idea than going to a single
lender one at a time. This is because if you go to the lender
directly (such as PNC Bank or Chase home Mortgage), you will
spend much time filling out the forms (each one has a different
set of forms to fill) and paying what could be a considerable amount
of money. Chase asked for a $450 application fee, told me that I
qualified for refinancing and then later declined my application
and refused to return the application fee. I went through the
same kind of rigamarole with PNC bank. I didn't pony up the
application fee but it took weeks before they told me I was not
eligible. I am not sure why it took so long... perhaps I just
got an incompentent loan officer.

I finally did my financing with a mortgage broker called United
Financial Technologies (934-1420). Sandy Rocco turned me on
to them and I am a happy customer. I am currently looking at
getting another loan and am working with Paula Cook who
is very professional and really knows the business.
