Harry, I don't know if you're planning a wedding any time soon, but I found
this old note when I was cleaning up, and thought perhaps you could use it.
I'll just remind you that we eventually had our reception in the Sheraton's
"waterfront room" during the 1988 regatta, and it was a real blast.

Hi Derek,

The place that cancelled on us was the Hilton downtown. They have a
really nice room, but.... However, another couple said that they may
have changed their policy (or were lying to them). You should probably
check with the Hilton and see.

The Sheraton seems to be pretty reasonable. The disadvantage there is
that their meals don't include drinks. If you can predict the alcohol
consumption of your guests then you could probably do better than other
places, but you don't know until the day after.

The rehearsal dinner is in the Steamboat Room. It isn't a very nice
room though. The "Fountainview" is their nicest room. It is long and
narrow (long side facing the river). One problem we had with it was
that it would only hold ~75 people for dinner if you had dancing. And
that didn't leave any room for a band (just a DJ).
