Subject: Passport size photos

This is a list of responses I recieved
about my query on passport size photos.

My query posted on the general bboard:
------------------------------------------------------

In our apartment shifting last week, my wife and I
managed to lose her (Indian) passport.
The application forms for a new passport
require her to get 13 passport size pictures!

Kinkos would cost $60/- for these. We would
like to get these copies at a cheaper rate if possible.
It is not necessary to get these pictures in
a hurry - we can wait for 2-3 days.

We have a negative from an earlier picture but it is
a little larger than necessary. We called up 3-4 photo
shops, but the smallest size they would develop that
negative to is 3 inches by 3 inches.

So is there is a way to get 13 pictures at a cheaper
rate than $60/-.

Thanks in advance

You can have passport sized photos taken at the photo booth in Monroville mall
for $1 each.

Milind,

I believe that you can get them considerably cheaper at Chircosta Studio
(281-2920) in downtown. I don't remember anything else, but I did use
them about a year ago.

Milind,
you can get cheap passport photos in the machines at Monroeville Mall.
I am not sure of the price, but I would guess it is $1 or 2 per 2
passport size photos. The machine is near the restrooms, I think in the top
floor.

Good luck! (paperwork is such a pain...)

I got some from Foto Hut (or some such name) on Forbes in Oakland
near Atwood, same side as the "O". $9 for 2, $11 for 4, maybe
even less for more. In any case, cheaper than Kinko.

Hi Milind,
Welcome to the bureaucratic workings of the Indian government. I'm
surprised that they only require 13 photographs and not more.
The cheapest way of getting passport size pictures is to find one
of those machines that takes them. I think you can find one of these
machines at a mall. Try either Monroeville or Century III. The pictures
shouldn't cost more than 4 to 5 dollars for 4.

	Good luck!

Milind:
If you're a member of AAA, you can go there and get 2 or 4 (I don't
remember for sure) pictures for $5. Also there are photo booths
in malls where you can get 4 pictures for 1 or 2 dollars (I believe
the Monroeville mall has one such booth as well as Ross Park mall).
Hope it helps,
