I took my stereo (tuner, power amplifier, turn table,CD player) with me from
Europe. My problem was, that in Europe they use 220V 50Hz (here 110V 60Hz).

- The difference in Cycles "normally" does not cause problems.
EXEPTION: Turntables !! check first before plugging in.

- To change the Voltage you need a "voltage converter"

There are two type of converters: transitoriced and conventional transformers.

	- You can get transitoriced converters from "Radio Shack".
But they convert normally from 110 to 220 and not vicaversa. Do
not try to use them in the reverse mode. DANGER!!!!
You may destroy your HIFI !

If you find a trans. converter from 110 to 220 take care of the
	  following points:
          - :Because this converters are switched power supplies they generate
some high frequency noise on the power line. Try them at home
and bring the device back if you here any noise in the HIFI.
Perhaps the converter is working well with your HIFI but
generates noise in an other Radio-set.
+ :This converters change also the cycles !!

	- You can get small transformers also from "Radio Shack". But
	  only with 50 Watts (Sq.Hill).
Bigger transformers are supplied by "The Bombay Emporium" in
Oakland (Craft and Blvd of the Allies, behind Magee Womens
Hospital). Ask for the boss! He is very helpfull.
	  - :They do not change cycles.
	  - :Do NOT connect them the wrong way round. DANGER
+ :They do not produce noise on the power lines.
+ :You may use them "the other way around" for your
	     american equipment in Europe.

Use this devices with care. Keep them away from children. If your
last lecture about el.tech. was long ago, ask a professional (not
the normal people selling this devices).
