Students Help Developing Nations through Technology Consulting in the Global Community Course! The program, led by Joe Mertz, associate teaching professor, Heinz School and SCS, is part of the TechBridgeWorld initiative, which aims to help developing nations design and implement technology that can enhance suitable and sustainable development. COMPUTER (The IEEE Computer Society Magazine) features article on "Programmable Matter", by Seth Goldstein, associate professor CSD, Jason D. Campbell (Intel Research Pitsburgh), and Todd C. Mowry (Intel Research Pittsburgh and associate professor, CSD. The article explores how researchers are using nanoscale technology to create microrobot ensembles for modeling 3D scenes.
