Interactive Social Robots to Participate
In AAAI’s
Annual Mobile Robot Challenge! Grace and
George, a pair of socially skilled robots developed by a team of researchers
from Carnegie Mellon University, the Naval Research Laboratory and
Swarthmore College, will participate in the American Association for
Artificial Intelligence (AAAI) annual Mobile Robot Competition and
Exhibition July 27-29, at the San Jose Convention Center in San Jose,

of CSD, is the new President's Professor of Computer Science.
This chair was established in 1997 by Robert Mehrabian, President
of Carnegie Mellon. News

Mathematics at Rice University, was awarded an

Jeannette
M. Wing, Professor CSD, has been chosen to head
the Computer Science Department (CSD) in the School of Computer Science.
She succeeds Randal E. Bryant who became dean of SCS on April
1, 2004. Professor Wing is highly regarded for her outstanding contributions
in research, teaching, and administrative service to the college.
