On Wednesday, May 14th, The Institute for Software Research International and the Master of Software Engineering Program welcomed the arrival of eleven women from South Africa. Having initiated their program at a distance in Cape Town, the women will continue their graduate studies on campus for the next six months. Chosen by the government of South Africa for their ambition and promise in the field of software engineering, these talented individuals underwent an intensive selection process in order to qualify for admittance to Carnegie Mellon's renowned program. They will return to their country with a world-class education that includes practical, application-based knowledge in the domain of software engineering.

The faculty, directors and administrators take great pleasure in welcoming these women to our program and our Carnegie Mellon University community.
